1933 Cedrus Yearbook

PREFACE T HERE lie at every man's disposal vast reservoirs of power, which he must needs convert to useful ends, if he wishes to attain some worthwhile goal, and truly to serve mankind to the best of his ability. These powers are manifold; they lie in the realms of the physical, mental, and spiritual. Preeminent among these powers is knowledge, basic to the highest development of man's physical and spiritual natures. This source of power is placed within our reach in many forms, but perhaps it presents itself to all of us most often through the written experiences of others, as recorded in books. We have endeavored this year to create a publication that can truly be called a book. To this purpose we have presented several essays and compo- sitions, contributed by members of the student body, as well as portrayed the life of the school in a literary form. We most sincerely appreciate the cooperation of all those who have helped us in the production of this book; especially those who have con- tributed articles and have aided in the compiling of the contents of this volume, and the ones who have assisted in the editing and typing of the manuscript.
