At Cedarville 1992–2010. Clinical Activity Information Facilities All clinical activity is conducted under the supervision of the Cedarville University School of Nursing faculty. The program utilizes a number of community resources including public and private, large and small hospitals, health departments, mental health services, rehabilitation centers, clinics, homes for the aged, and physician’s offices. Clinical Requirements Students are required to have a background check, current CPR/BLS certification, uniforms, equipment, photo identification, and transportation for clinical experiences. Nursing students are required to furnish proof of private health insurance. Health Requirements Prior to clinical nursing courses, students must provide documentation of: a) Complete physical examination. Obtain the physical examination form from the School of Nursing office before having your physical examination. The physical exam must be dated on or after August 1 of first semester in nursing program. b) Childhood immunizations. All immunizations (contact nursing office for list) must be complete and up-to-date. c) Negative 2-step Mantoux test followed by annual Tb testing. Clinical agencies require a negative chest x-ray in the event of a positive TB skin test. d) Tetanus booster or Tdap (within last 10 years). Clinical sites require documentation of TDap prior to starting clinical experience. e) Hepatitis B vaccine series and Hepatitis B titer f) Influenza vaccine g) Proof of current health insurance coverage. All students enrolled in clinical courses must have current health insurance coverage. This is to be uploaded to your Certified Background/ Castle Branch profile. Any injury or medical care received at a clinical site is the responsibility of the student and will be charged to the student healthcare insurance. h) Other documentation as requested. The School of Nursing may request further documentation when a student’s ability to practice according to acceptable and prevailing standards of safe nursing care is uncertain.
