Plaster School of Business Master of Arts in Communication and Organizational Leadership Master of Arts in Communication and Organizational Leadership Purpose Statement The Master of Arts (MA) in Communication and Organizational Leadership at Cedarville University is designed to equip students with the skills necessary to lead, inspire, and communicate effectively in diverse professional and social environments. Rooted in biblical principles, this program develops ethical servant-leaders who can navigate complex communication challenges while maintaining a Christ-centered approach. Whether managing teams, crafting strategic messages, or influencing public opinion, graduates of this program will be prepared to engage the world with wisdom, integrity, and clarity. Program Objectives Upon completion of the Master of Arts in Communication and Organizational Leadership, graduates will be able to: 1. Articulate the relationship between quality leadership communication and a dedication to the tenets of Scripture. 2. Identify and explain key theories of communication and leadership. 3. Evaluate communication realities and problems through excellent research methods. 4. Demonstrate excellent communication skills from a professional perspective. 5. Demonstrate dedication to using organizational leadership and clear communication as an active influence for Christ in the professional sphere. Program Delivery The program is delivered 100% online, allowing students the flexibility to engage with coursework while balancing personal and professional responsibilities. Courses are structured in accelerated seven-week terms, enabling students to progress at a pace that suits their schedule. Students are encouraged to work closely with their academic advisor to plan their course sequence and ensure timely completion of the degree. Evidence of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. 2. Official transcripts confirming a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited or otherwise approved institution with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale. Conditional acceptance may be offered in certain circumstances where the overall GPA is at least a 2.0. Specific conditions will be decided by the MACOL Admissions Committee. • Completion of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) may be required for those with a grade point average below 2.75. Some exceptions are made on an individual basis. The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is an acceptable alternative. 3. A statement of intent demonstrating strong written communication skills appropriate for graduate-level academic work. 4. Computer proficiency and ability to take courses in an online environment. 5. One professional or academic reference (faculty member or supervisor) and one Christian character reference (pastoral or mentor). Family members and personal friends are not eligible to serve as references.
