Licensure Prospective students should be aware that each state and U.S. territory may have different professional licensure requirements governing various occupations. Cedarville University ensures that its educational programs meet the educational prerequisites for professional licensure within the State of Ohio; however, if you reside outside of the State of Ohio, you should contact your Cedarville University academic advisor regarding the rules and regulations pertaining to licensure and clinical supervision in your state/territory before beginning the Master of Athletic Training program. Students are strongly encouraged to check with their state licensure board to confirm licensure requirements and to obtain additional guidance as needed from that board and their Cedarville University academic/program advisor. Admission Standards Admission to the Master of Athletic Training (MAT) program requires meeting the University's general admission criteria, application requirements, and the following: • Evidence of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. • Completed ATCAS application established by the CAATE, including two letters of reference. Application fee should be paid on ATCAS fee schedule. • Official transcripts confirming a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited or otherwise approved institution with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. • Applicants must upload official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended to the ATCAS system. These transcripts must be submitted before the application is considered eligible for review. • Conditionally admitted students should submit official transcripts confirming a conferred bachelor's degree and/ or completion of prerequisites directly to Cedarville. • Documentation for completed physical exam and an up-todate immunization record, including Hepatitis B series, 2 Step TB test, and Influenza vaccination. • Completed Cedarville supplemental application, including contact information for one Christian character reference (pastor or mentor). Family members and personal friends are not eligible to serve as references. • Meet all program prerequisites with an earned grade of “C” or better. • Applicants who do not meet program prerequisites or admissions standards may be considered for conditional admission to the program. Some exceptions may be made on an individual basis to allow a prerequisite to be completed during the first summer semester of the program. • Interview with the Athletic Training program faculty, and confirmation of the following: • Documented completion of a minimum of 100 hours of observation in an athletic training program. • Signed agreement with the MAT's technical standards document. Prerequisite Courses for Admission to the MAT program: • Anatomy and Physiology (8 credit hours with lab) • College Chemistry (with a lab) • Exercise Physiology • General Biology (with a lab) • Physics (with a lab) Admission Process and Timeframe Applicants should follow the specific admission criteria found in the Admissions section of the graduate catalog. Application decisions are generally made by the leadership of the Master of Athletic Training program within two weeks after an admission application is completed. Graduate Enrollment will then notify applicants of the admission decision. Tuition and Fees Tuition cost for the Master of Athletic Training program for the 2026–27 academic year is $581 per semester credit hour. The technology fee is $40 per semester. The graduation fee for the Master of Athletic Training program for the 2026–27 academic year is $125.
