Page 80 2026–27 Graduate Academic Catalog School of Nursing Doctor of Nursing Practice Program: BSN entry to DNP Doctor of Nursing Practice Program: BSN entry to DNP Program Objectives Upon completion of the BSN entry to DNP program the graduate will be able to: • Integrate the nursing practice competencies of the specialty with a biblical worldview underlying the advanced nursing practice roles and responsibilities. • Integrate the nursing science with the knowledge from other disciplines that influence health and healthcare as the basis for the highest level of nursing practice. • Demonstrate the competency to use systems thinking and organizational leadership to improve healthcare outcomes. • Design and implement evidence-based quality and safety initiatives to improve healthcare outcomes. • Evaluate and recommend suitable information systems and patient care technology and transformation of healthcare. • Demonstrate the capacity to assume leadership in advocating for just, ethical, and equitable healthcare policy. • Lead diverse interprofessional partnerships to optimize care, enhance the healthcare experience, improve outcomes, and reduce costs. • Demonstrate competence in advanced nursing practice within a specific track: Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, Nursing Leadership in Healthcare Improvement, and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner - Primary Care. Admission Standards for BSN entry to DNP Admission to the Doctor of Nursing Practice Program: BSN entry to DNP requires meeting the University's general admission criteria, application requirements, and the following: • Evidence of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. • Official transcripts confirming a bachelor's degree in nursing from a regionally accredited or otherwise approved institution, with a BSN undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale. • Transcripts must verify completion of college-level nursing research and statistics courses. Admission and enrollment require documentation of successful completion (≥ C-) of both courses before the enrollment date. • Applicants with a GPA of 2.5 to 2.9 may apply with a petition demonstrating academic potential, which will be reviewed only after the application is complete. • Evidence of active, unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse in the United States. • RN work experience. • Two professional or academic references (faculty member or supervisor) and one Christian character reference (pastor or mentor). Family members and personal friends are not eligible to serve as references. • Completion of two essay questions (250-word maximum per question), which will be evaluated based on overall content and writing competence. • Interview with School of Nursing (SON) Graduate Admission, Progression, Retention Committee.
