alumnotes | CU Succeed! Career Fair Tips and Tricks for the Job Seeker • Wear Your Nametag On the Right Side: Literally, your right hand side. Anyone shaking your hand should look up your arm, see the name tag, and then your face (for those who are right-handed). • Do Your Research: Recruiters hate hearing this question: “What positions do you have openings for?” You should look online before the fair and apply for open positions, and then simply stop by at the fair to follow up and, hopefully, land an interview. • Have a Firm Handshake: Ladies, now is not the time to be a princess. Gentlemen, now is not the time to show how much you’ve been bench pressing. Have a firm (not limp and not bone-crushing) handshake: web-to-web, about three pumps, and you’re done.
