alumnotes | News Jeannie (DuPre) Day ’63 retired from 23 years of public school teaching in 2017 (Enon, Ohio, and Dayton Public Schools). Jeannie has attended Risen Christ Lutheran Church in Springfield, Ohio, since 1991 where she teaches Sunday school. She lives in Kettering, Ohio, and has four children and 18 grandchildren. Gary L. ’71 and Sharon (Lewis) Creviston ’73 celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on September 19, 2020. The Crevistons were married at First Baptist Church, Mentone, Indiana, while both were students at Cedarville University. 1 Bill Henry ’73 retired in May from classroom teaching after 38 years, primarily in Christian schools in Ohio. He started three soccer programs while also coaching basketball and baseball. In addition, Bill began the drama department at Heartland Christian School in Columbiana where he directed over 20 plays. Bill has also pastored three churches and is now looking for half-time pastoral ministry. 2 Drew ’82 and Linda (Moody) Baker ’82 both teach at Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy. Drew and his mother, Sue Baker, Professor Emerita of Education, have published a book, A Herculean Task: Teachers Making a Difference , which was written to encourage leaders and teachers. Jane (Romig) Brooker ’86 completed a Ph.D. in workforce education from Penn State University in May 2020. 3 Julia Gregory ’89 graduated from the University of Cincinnati in December 2019 with an M.B.A. with a Certificate in Healthcare Policy. She is currently in her 23rd year at Procter and Gamble working in the Finance and Accounting Function, managing the healthcare spending for the company. Julia has two grown children who also live in Cincinnati. Christine (Renberg) Sommers ’89 was appointed as the Provost (Chief Academic Officer) for Universitas Pelita Harapan in Lippo Village, Tangerang, Indonesia. She will also continue to serve as the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, a position she has held for the last six years. Universitas Pelita Harapan is a Christian university founded in 1994 that serves nearly 15,000 students. 4 Jessica (MacPherson) Dunn ’97 is happy to announce the release of her children’s book, Patrick: A Spark in the Darkness . This book tells the true story of Saint Patrick, how God changed a sinner’s heart and used him to bring the Gospel to Ireland. After living in Northern Ireland and Ohio, Jessica now lives in Schenectady, New York, with her husband and three sons. 5 Chris Risheill ’01 , has been named as a recipient of the American Business Awards (ABA). Chris, who serves as Senior Director of a nonprofit association in Ohio, is part of a very select group of winners. Now a two-time winner of an ABA, Chris credits his time at Cedarville with helping him learn the skills needed to make sure that “quality is stamped all over” the work of his team. 6 Lisa Smith ’01 graduated with a Master of Science in Gerontology from University of Indianapolis in August 2020. She previously graduated in 2017 from Kaplan University with a B.S. in human services. She works at the University of Indianapolis and lives in Avon, Indiana. Alicia Anderson ’02 was selected by the Canyon Athletic Association (CAA) of Arizona as the 2019–2020 Vinny Coach of the Year, a recognition for exemplary sportsmanship. Earlier this season, Alicia was also singled out as the 2019–2020 CAA Division I Girls Coach of the Year after leading her team to the state playoffs. She is the head coach for varsity girls basketball at Trinity Christian School. 7 Anna-Marie (Kokx) Struble ’10 graduated from Michigan State University as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine with Honors. She holds Fear Free Certification, Medical Acupuncture for Veterinarians (CuraCore) certification, and training in dentistry, CPR, business, and diversity. She is moving with her husband, Alex Struble ’12 , and pets to Alpena, Michigan, to work at Alpena Veterinary Clinic. Brandon ’14 and Katherine (Drake) Bellanti ’14 both completed a master’s degree in May 2020. Katherine received her Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia from Boston College, and Brandon received his Master of Science in Library and Information Science from Simmons University. Katherine and Brandon live in Brookline, Massachusetts, and are active in their church, City on a Hill Brookline. NEWS Cedarville University | Fall 2020
