Elleanor (Young) Hunt ’41 of Fairborn, Ohio, passed away on July 27, 2012. After completing the Teachers Course at Cedarville College and her B.A. in education from the University of Dayton, she taught first and second grade for Fairborn City Schools for 28 years. She was a member of the Fairborn Business Women’s Association, Republican Women’s Club, and Daughters of the American Revolution and helped found the Xenia Community Blood Center. Elleanor is survived by her son, John; granddaughter, Amanda Woodruff; a great-grandson; sister, Deloris Lachey; and brother, Ray Young. Dr. James F. Wisecup ’50 of South Charleston, Ohio, passed away on March 23, 2012. Jim played Yellow Jackets baseball with dear friend, Marcus Townsley ’52 . He attended Miami University of Ohio and Ball State University where he earned his Ed.D. During the Korean War, he served in the Army Counter-Intelligence Corps. Returning to Ohio to follow his life’s passion, he became a teacher, principal, and school superintendent, helping to establish the Piqua Upper Valley Joint Vocational School. He is survived by his son, Phil (Anne), and five grandchildren. Marilyn (Smith) Biddle ’62 of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away on July 16, 2012. Marilyn received a B.S. in education from Taylor University, an M.Ed. from Loyola University Chicago, and certificates of advanced graduate studies from the University of Alabama-Birmingham and University of Nebraska. She was a counselor and Associate Dean of Students at Moody Bible Institute and Director of Counseling at Alabama School of Fine Arts. She served 20 years as a geriatric social worker. She is survived by her husband, Allen Biddle ’63 ; daughter, Amanda Toughill (Scott); and granddaughter, Grace. David G. Piper ’62 of Kennewick, Washington, passed away on August 24, 2011. Dave entered ministry as a church planter. He was the founding pastor of churches in Idaho and Oregon, as well as in Kennewick, his last pastorate. He enjoyed memorizing scripture and considered Philippians 1:21 as one of his favorites: “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.” Dave is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Dobbs) ’61 ; children, David ’85 , Scott ’87, Mark ’90 , and Joan (Piper) Henckel ’92 ; and 14 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Julie (Gersema) ’88 . Dr. Frank Farley ’64 of Frankfort, Kentucky, passed away April 13, 2012. Frank was a U.S. Air Force veteran, member of Buck Run Baptist Church, and minister of music at Calvary Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Judy; daughter, Angela Spencer; son, Don; and six grandchildren. George P. Zinn, Jr. ‘67 of Greenwood, Indiana, passed away on July 2, 2012. George was a minister serving the Lord for 35 years. He received his M.Ed. from Bowling Green State University and served his country in the U.S. Army Air Forces. George was an accomplished singer who recorded gospel songs and enjoyed listening to classical, western, and southern gospel music as well as watching old western movies. George is survived by his wife, Doris, seven children, 16 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Helen (Moose) Zwyghuizen ’68 of Silva, Missouri, passed away on May 10, 2011. She attended Bible schools and seminaries, including Oklahoma University and Yale University, before earning her bachelor’s degree from Cedarville College. Her book, Daily Choices for Christ: A Lifetime of Joyful Missionary Service , recounts her life’s work with Baptist Mid-Missions in China, Indonesia, Canada, and the U.S. She is survived by her stepchildren, Janet Epley, Judith Barrier, David, Donald, and Dale; sister, Esther Hansen; brother, Glenn Moose; 14 step-grandchildren, including Jill ’04 ; and 12 step-great-grandchildren. Roger G. Crampton ’69 of Alma, Michigan, passed away on January 10, 2012. Roger managed the Fairborn branch of the Social Services in Ohio for several years. He moved to Michigan where he was the Assistant Director for the Baptist Children’s Home in St. Louis. He and his wife also owned and operated Lovin’ Country and Antiques and Uniques for several years. He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Fleming) ’69 ; his daughter, Lisa Hudecz (Tim); two granddaughters, Ashtynne and Falynne; and his foster son, Michael Porter. Becky (McDonald) Whittier ’70 of Beavercreek, Ohio, passed away on April 8, 2012. She is survived by her husband, Bill; her mother, Helen McDonald; and brother, Dr. Philip McDonald ’74 (Becky). Rebecca is preceded in death by her father, Dr. Cleveland McDonald, former Cedarville University professor. James F. Fair, Jr. ’75 of Loveland, Ohio, passed away on June 25, 2012. He served in the military before graduating from Cedarville. Jim worked for GuideOne Insurance for 30 years. In the 70s, he sang with the Word of Life Quartet and traveled with Jack Wyrtzen. He had a beautiful bass voice and was active in music ministry, singing in musicals, choirs, and men’s quartets. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca (Lamb) ’75 , and his son, Jimmy. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jami. Valerie Hope (Bowser) Brocious ’77 of Worthington, Pennsylvania, passed away on August 6, 2012. Valerie received a B.A. in elementary education from Cedarville College and was a teacher and principal at Worthington Baptist Academy from 1977–2010. She was a member of Worthington Baptist Church. She is survived by her father, Frank Bowser; husband, Steven; son, Joel; daughter, Emily; and brothers, Jeff and Vaughn Bowser. Edd Sturdevant, ’83 of Union City, Pennsylvania, passed away on June 9, 2012. He served his church as choir director and handbell choir director. Edd had a passion for youth and worked with Girl Scouts and community and church youth groups. A recipient of kidney and pancreas transplants, he encouraged all he knew to become organ donors. His final act was to donate his body to the UPMC Transplant Center for study by transplant physicians. He is survived by his mother, Mabel; sister, Sue; and three brothers, Denton, Adelbert, and Rexford (Skip). His sister Patricia ’70 preceded him in death.
