Alumnotes, Spring 2018

A L UMNOT E S Spring 2018 Office of Alumni and Parent Relations Alumni & Parent Relations Executive Director Jeff Beste ’87 Assistant Director of Homecoming and Alumni Programming Dan Case ’16 Assistant Director of Student Philanthropy and Young Alumni Rahul Jacob ’17 Advancement Relations and Events Coordinator Julie Sheridan One of the things I enjoy most about the new calendar year is the opportunity to reflect on the past, give thanks in the present, and look forward to the future. In my reflections, I was reminded of one of my favorite passages of Scripture that comes from the first chapter of the book of Philippians. The Apostle Paul is expressing gratitude to the members of the church at Philippi for their partnership in the Gospel, and he says to them, “I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now” (Phil. 1:3–5). As you read this issue of the magazine, take time to peruse the alumnotes, read the stories, and give thanks to God for the many great things He is doing in and through our Cedarville family. As you read each article, reflect on the transformational impact Cedarvi l le University has had on your life. Take a moment to recall a Cedarville faculty or staff member or friend who invested in your life and give them a call or send them a note or email to let them know of your gratitude. I wouldn’t be the person I am today if it were not for the investment of faculty, mentors, and friends in my life and their partnership in Gospel work. My hunch is that is true for each of you as well. Let’s take time in this new year to express our gratitude to God and to one another, and rejoice in the Cedarville family and community God has given us. “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ” (Phil. 1:6).
