alumnotes | News 1 Dannah (Barker) Gresh ’89 released her latest book, Lies Girls Believe , co-authored by Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth, in February 2019. Based on Dannah’s in-depth research, the book teaches girls to counteract the enemy’s lies with God’s truth. 2 Steve Dye ’89 , Rebecca (Davis) Dye ’89 , Andy Cook ’91 , Mara (Blackburn) Cook ’91 , Noella (Fisher) Kleis ’99 , Jonathan Kleis ’01 , Cliff Reynolds ’01 , Alison (Warren) Reynolds ’01 , and Heather (Fankhauser) Farran ’01 recently attended an Association of Baptists for World Evangelism (ABWE) Western Europe Leaders Meeting in Madrid, Spain. Paul McGrady ’93 started a new career at Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP in its Intellectual Property practice group. He will be working with companies from all over the world on trademark policies. 3 Sherry (Gavitt) Price ’94 spent fall semester 2018 in Klaipeda, Lithuania (on the Baltic Sea), where her husband, Chris, taught at Lithuania Christian College International University in the history/social science department. Chris was able to share the Gospel openly during his classes and Sherry and their daughters, Olivia and Kalleigh, were able to share many ministry opportunities through music. Jim Olinger ’96 , along with wife Heidi (Bowen) ’96 , will transition from 22 years of pastoral ministry to become the next president of the Nicaragua Christian Education (NiCE) Foundation in Highland, Illinois. The Foundation packs meals, offers student sponsorships, and directs short-term missions trips to Nicaragua to partner with churches and Christian schools across the country. 4 Jennifer (Ingalis) Kang ’97 and her son, Jonathan (11), had the joy of serving alongside Allison Baer O’Connor ’98 and her husband, Jon, at Hope of Life in Guatemala. Allison and Jon, along with their four children, have been full-time missionaries at Hope of Life since 2017. Allie is a nurse, and Jon is a helicopter pilot. All four of their children are involved in the ministry through translating and playing with the orphan children. 5 Michelle Lynn Shinaberry ’97 successfully defended her dissertation titled “Self-Compassion and Licensed Professional School Counselors: A Phenomenological Study.” She graduated from Ohio University on May 3, 2019, with a Doctor of Philosophy in counselor education and supervision. Michelle has enrolled in a health and life coaching certification program for her business, ThinkMoveFeelWell LLC. Jason Vasquez ’97 was honored by the Indianapolis Business Journal as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the Year for 2018 for private companies under $100 million. He is the CTO and a founding partner of DeveloperTown. Jason is married to Lori (Phipps) Vasquez ’96 , who is a Physician Assistant for a surgical practice at Community North Hospital in Indianapolis. They have two boys, Alex (13) and Andrew (9). 6 Devin T. Robinson ’03, M.B.A. ’15 was promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonel in the Air Force in February at Camp Chamberlain, Augusta, Maine. Devin is the Deputy Director of Public Affairs for the Air National Guard in Washington, D.C. 3 2 1 4 5 Send us your news!
