As a kid, I r ememb e r h e a r i n g about the year 2020 as a science fiction backdrop to a time that I could hardly imagine. And now, I have a daughter who is graduating from Cedarville University in 2020 ! While I have always been proud of Cedarville as an alumnus and a longtime staff member, I must admit that I have never been more excited about what God is doing here than I have been as a parent, watching Him shape my daughters through the intentional, discipling relationships they are having as students — Kylie as a Resident Assistant and Sara through the volleyball team. If it is time for your children to begin looking at colleges, definitely plan to bring them to Cedarville for a visit! We started the school year with another amazing Getting Started Weekend. What Dick Walker, former Director of Campus Activities, started decades ago, Brian Burns ’ 95 , Director of Campus Experience, and crew continue to lead as we welcome students (and their parents) to our campus. Especially fun for me was hosting our Second Generation Banquet the Friday evening of Getting Started, welcoming more than 220 alumni and their children to Cedarville as a part of our record class of 995 new freshmen. A l s o ex c i t i ng f o r t he f a l l wa s Homecoming and Parents Weekend 2019 , as alumni, parents, students, faculty, and staff were engaged in the festivities all over campus. I trust that those of you who came enjoyed reconnecting and spending time with old and new friends. T h a n k y o u f o r sharing the Cedarville story! We need you to continue helping us ge t the me s sage out of all that God is doing at Cedarville, from construction of new facilities to record enrollment year after year. And this time of year is a key time to encourage students to apply! If you know someone who belongs on campus in our undergraduate program, or someone who should come back to participate in one of our graduate programs, please share their names with us. Just go to cedarville.edu/names to get started. As Dr. White shares the 10 -Year Master Plan and gets us excited about the future, he is also looking at Nehemiah each week in chapel this year and getting us excited about the past — and how God’s faithfulness is everywhere! He was faithful to the children of Israel then, and He continues to show His faithfulness to us now — whether it is on our campus or in our individual stories. Join us in praying that God will continue to do great things here on our campus, our communities, our nation, and our world, through the lives of students, faculty, staff, and alumni who are committed to stand firm for the Word of God and the Testimony of Jesus Christ.
