Cedarville Alumnotes Summer 2019

Alumni Award Winners | alumnotes Alumnus of the Year 25 Don Lough, Jr. ’87 was recognized for his commitment to reaching the next generation for Christ. He has served with Word of Life since 1992 in various capacities and has been the Executive Director of Word of Life Fellowship since 2011. He has been a Cedarville University Trustee since 2014. Young Alumna of the Year 26 Jerica (Ward) Lamar ’09 was recognized for her servant leadership to her country. She joined the Peace Corps directly after college, and later joined the U.S. State Department. She is currently serving as a U.S. diplomat stationed in Kenya. Honorary Alumni of the Year 27 Warren and Betty Wiersbe were posthumously recognized for the years of friendship and abundant generosity to Cedarville University. In fall 2018, the Wiersbes gifted Warren’s vast personal library to Cedarville University. This impressive collection of commentaries, nonfiction publications, and works of literature is now housed in the Warren and Betty Wiersbe Library and Reading Room in Cedarville’s Center for Biblical and Theological Studies. Dr. Wiersbe went home to be with his Lord and Savior on May 2 of this year. His dear wife of nearly 66 years joined him just six weeks later on June 15.
