1968 Cedarville College Annual Report

Our Purpose Why should young people pay more to attend Cedarville College when there are so many community col– leges, junior colleges, and university extensions near their homes ? BECAUSE CEDARVILLE COLLEGE HAS A PROGRAM WITH A PURPOSE An explosion of knowledge has provided mankind with scientific marvels that can be used to alleviate his sufferings. But because of lack of direction, they threaten him with annihilation. It is imperative that our leaders of tomorrow have more than academic preparation. They must also have a sense of purpose and moral convictions. Cedarville College provides a stu– dent with a blend of academic com– petency, awareness of contempor– ary problems, and spiritual maturity to find God's will for his life. There is a blend of ingredients in the program at Cedarville College that produces students with purpose. 1 A DEDICATED FACULTY Committed Christian professors proficient in academic training ex- tend their influence beyond the classroom to help counsel the stu– dent in spiritual and personal mat– ters. 2 A UNIQUE STUDENT BODY. Since every student who attends Cedarville has made a profession of faith in Christ, young people can share convictions, ideas, and enjoy wholesome social activities. 3. A KNOWLEDGE OF THE SCRIPTURES. No student's education is complete without a working knowledge of the scriptures. In conjunction with each student's major, every young person has a minor in Bible. 4 THE WILL OF GOD. The entire college program: daily chapel services, Christian service ac– tivities, social activities, content in the classroom, atmosphere on cam– pus, fellowship with other students, all add up to providing an environ– ment where the young person can find God's will for his life. Our greatest attainment is - A PROGRAM WITH A PURPOSE.
