Turner, Director of Development THE VEAR AT A GLANCE I believe the following paragraphs will be a source of encouroge– ment to our many loyal friends who contribute by prayer and sacri– ficial giving to the operation and growth of Cedarville College. The Lord has done great things for us. I rejoice in the opportunity to tell you at least a little of what has happened in the past year. I am excited about the prospect for the future! Though there have been many evidences of the Lord's blessing upon the College in a material way, some of the greatest marks of advancement have been spiritual and academic. This, in my judg– ment, is the way it should be. Our material gains are to the glory of God only as they result in the fulfillment of the purposes for which the College exists. Hopefully, before another year goes by, you will not only be able to visit the campus but to see and to examine the new science build– ing . This new facility with 19,000 square feet of floor space will be erected near the librory building, overlooking the lake . It is proper, as I see it, for a Christian college to emphasize scientific truth, while at the same time, it uncompromisingly declares Biblical truth . I am persuaded that truth is never controdictory, and I believe our young people should have the privilege of knowin.g and understanding this most important principal. This is one of the reasons for the existence of Christian colleges in general, and Cedarville in particular. You will agree, I am sure, that facts in themselves can be rother lifeless things . Knowledge without the annointing and blessing of the Holy Spirit is not only dead, it is dangerous . It has often been re– peated that all of the trouble in the world began under the Tree of Knowledge. The pages that follow not only present some of the ways Cedar– ville College is prepared to offer a Christian education to the many young people who in increasing numbers are depending upon us, but also show how this knowledge is put into practical service for the glory of God . The Word of God clearly emphasizes the fact that Christ did not save us simply to satisfy us, but He did save us in order that w e may serve Him
