1979-1980 Cedarville College Annual Report

Endowment Development One of the distinguishing factors of most reputable colleges today is the holdings, or assets, known as endowment. These funds are set aside in perpetuity by the college and the income from the funds is used for specified and/ or general purposes as requested by the donor. Such funds are extremely helpful to the college, and we are pleased to report a considerable increase in endowment commitments: notification of a future estate to provide a Distinguished Professorship at the college; notification of a sizable trust to benefit the college at a later date; several estates being left in entirety to the college. Some of the above are the resu lts of continued interest in the college as expressed by our Heritage Alumni-those who attended the college prior to 1953.
