STUDENTS 1,862 enrollment fall quarter 1987. Ninth consecutive record enrollment. 43 states, Puerto Rico, and nine foreign countries represented in the student body. Average Cedarville freshman in top 25th percentile nationally in ACT/SAT scores, high school GPAs, and class rank. 5,000 Admissions guests this year, an increase of 10% over last year. Over 10,000 total college guests annually. Applications up 23% over last year. 94 Presidential Scholars enrolled this year (scored in top three percent nationally on SAT or ACT exams in high school). 400 graduates in 1987, largest class ever. Cedarville graduates accepted by many graduate and professional schools such as Miami University, Notre Dame Law School, The Ohio State University, University of Pennsylvania, University of Cincinnati, and University of Michigan. 1862 ADVANCES • Completion of largest capital campaign in 100 year history of the college. Committed : $8.1 million • Dedication of new 66,830 square foot Centennial Library. Committed: $4.35 million • Increased endowment with special focus on student aid endowment. Goal: $1.0 million Received: $1.1 million • Retrofit of former library (27,000 square feet) for Business Administra– tion Building. Cost: $900,000 • Renovation of Collins Hall to provide expanded facilites for departments of Communication Arts and Counseling. • Relocation of Admissions Department and Visitors Center to the College Center. • Installation of new administrative com– puter. • Planning teams working on priority projects for program and facility advancement: Engineering program New residence hall Expansion of Chapel New student center Retrofit of College Center into music facility Expansion of Science Center OUTREACH • 70% of Cedarville students in volunteer Christian ministries. • 50 teams in area churches, agencies, orphanages, hospitals, rest homes, jails, and schools each week. • 400 churches assisted by teams during the year. • Gospel teams in church ministries nation– wide, beach and city evangelism, and camp counseling during the summer and quarter breaks. • Missionary Internship Service students to: Australia Brazil China Ecuador England France Germany Hong Kong Ireland Israel Japan New Zealand Niger Peru Philippines Togo • WCDR-FM, with new power increase from 3,000 to 30,000 watts, now the only Christian station to broadcast with a grade A reliable signal to entire Dayton-Springfield area. • Two million potential WCDR listeners from Richmond, Indiana, to Chillicothe, Ohio, from Columbus to Cincinnati. • 25 faculty and staff with the college speak– ers bureau ministering at churches, schools, camps, and conventions. • Six faculty currently interim pastors in area local churches.
