IBM and Cedarville are showcase partners in the project that is attracting attention from educational and corporate computer users across the country. Phase One has equipped 300 dormitory rooms with computers, printers, and access to network software. Besides typical software, students may access library holdings, send electronic mail, and use course-specific software. CedarNet also brings faculty and administrative offices into the network. Public labs accommodate off– campus students and those whose dorms will be online in future phases. Depai1mental labs allow students to use hardware and software specific to their fields of study. By fall 1993, over two-thirds of the students will have workstations in their rooms. CedarNet links faculty and administrative offices, student dormitory rooms, and the Centennial Library, as well as providing access to a multitude of software programs.
