2000-2001 Annual Report

A Heart for PEACE The 80-member Gospel Choir made its debut this past year, spreading Christ’s message through traditional and contemporary black gospel music. The choir is just one facet of the Promoting Ethnic and Cultural Education (PEACE) Project, a new, multicultural organization that encourages students to live out God’s command to love one another. PEACE Project promotes an understanding of different American cultures through service projects, discussion groups, and the Gospel Choir. A Prayerful Focus An attitude of prayer has always been a defining characteristic of the University community. Men’s and women’s prayer groups work together to facilitate prayer events and daily intercession on campus. Day of Prayer events in the Fall and Spring Quarters keep the campus focused on the importance of praying for individuals, our nation, and our world. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26 4
