16 Contributing to the excitement of campus life, Cedarville’s athletic programs continued their winning tradition last year. Outstanding accomplishments included: • The Women’s All-Sports Award for the American Mideast Conference (AMC), recognizing league championships in basketball and volleyball and runner-up finishes in cross country and softball • Second place standing in the NCCAA Presidents’ Cup, which recognizes a school’s overall performance in men’s and women’s athletics • Best-ever 35-2 record for the women’s basketball squad, who repeated as the NAIA Division II national runner-up • NAIA Division II Final Four finish for men’s basketball • NAIA Region IX and AMC South Division titles for women’s volleyball and the team’s first appearance at the NAIA National Tournament • NAIA rankings for both Yellow Jacket cross country teams as well as placements in the Top 15 at the national meet The 2004 National Survey of Student Engagement placed Cedarville at the top of Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU) institutions for providing a supportive campus environment for freshmen.
