2005-2006 Annual Report
23 When they and their son Evan began prayerfully considering colleges, they looked for one with excellent academics combined with a thorough commitment to Scripture in every study area. They wanted a place that emphasized evangelism, missions, and the local church. The Wickers wanted conservatism without legalism — a positive approach to Christianity that also stressed holiness. They chose Cedarville and have never looked back. Like many new students, Evan came to Cedarville with dreams and expectations but was still unsure of God’s call for his life. It was a missions conference during his freshman year that prompted him to consider vocational ministry. Then he took a three-month missions trip to Turkey and had the opportunity to use his basketball skills in ministry. Evan continued to grow through daily accountability and discipleship with friends and the encouragement and wise counsel of his professors. During last year’s missions conference, Evan committed himself to international missions as his lifelong pursuit. The Wickers recommend Cedarville to all parents who desire that their children are taught in a godly atmosphere, who want a school with a commitment to Scripture, and who long for an outstanding place that will equip their son or daughter for lifelong leadership and service — a place like Cedarville, where the next generation is being changed for eternity. www.cedarville.edu/parents Acknowledging the strategic importance of our partnership with parents, Cedarville launched Parents E-News and a new parents website to provide current information and resources. to Christian higher education Dr. Hayes Wicker and his wife Janet are excited about Cedarville.
