Jun Kim, M.M. Assistant Professor of Music, at Cedarville since 2006 Jun Kim, conductor of the Cedarville University Orchestra, gained international recognition in early 2007 thanks to his outstanding performance in a conducting master class in St. Petersburg, Russia. Kim was also awarded an invitation and scholarship to work with the Moscow Symphony Orchestra in a second master class. At the same time, Kim was chosen to participate in the seventh annual National Arts Centre Conductors Programme in Ottawa, Canada, held during June 2007. Michael Firmin, Ph.D. Professor of Psychology and Department Chair, at Cedarville since 1998 Dr. Michael Firmin, along with fellow CU psychology professors, each academic year collaborates with Cedarville psychology students to build an impressive record of scholarly contributions. During the 2006–07 academic year, for example, Firmin made 30 paper presentations at national research conferences and authored more than a dozen publications in peer-reviewed journals. During the summer of 2007, the psychology and education departments hosted the prestigious 19th Annual Ethnographic & Qualitative Research in Education (EQRE) conference on the CU campus. Firmin has been appointed as the editor of the peer-reviewed Journal of Ethnographic & Qualitative Research . “The psychology program’s commitment to student-faculty collaborative research projects where students share authorship in journal publications and presentations at national research conferences is truly unique. It is a privilege to help students achieve their potentials, to invest my life to see them someday go beyond me.”
