2012-2013 Annual Report
Cedarville’s graduate and adult programs give students the knowledge and skills to use their chosen vocation as a platform for individual ministry. What began in 2011 as a seed idea for an M.B.A. program was cultivated by alumni, watered by a supportive administration and advisory council, and grown by an innovative and committed faculty. In August 2013, with unreserved approval from the Ohio Board of Regents and the Higher Learning Commission, Cedarville’s M.B.A. program blossomed with its first online course of 15 students. We were blessed to have a faculty with experience in teaching both at the graduate level as well as online. Dan Sterkenburg, Director of Graduate Programs, and the School of Business Administration faculty stepped up smartly to develop, gain approval for, and launch this program. And they are not slowing down; we are now developing new M.B.A. concentrations. The successful beginning has attracted students from eight states, including recent graduates from Cedarville and other institutions and professionals with varying levels of business experience. Our distinctive, biblically integrated graduate curriculum provides moral clarity for our graduates as they apply their skills in business decisions. The recent financial crisis in the United States has exposed the moral failures in business, and it demonstrates the compelling need for the program we offer. We must capture students’ hearts as well as their minds. Loren Reno, Lt.
