9 Resources for Parents We understand that bringing your son or daughter to college for the first time is a significant transition for your family. That’s why Getting Started isn’t just for new students; it’s for moms and dads as well. As you look at the schedule, plan to take part in the parent sessions. After you’ve returned home, refer to some helpful resources listed below. And keep in touch—you’re part of the Cedarville family, too! Parent Website This website is your place for 24/7 access to information about upcoming events, helpful services, campus news, and important contacts. Learn more about our Parents Association. Be sure you’re subscribed to the monthly Parent Connect eNews. And if you’re beginning the college search process (all over again!) with a student at home, you need to check out ParentPrep—our resource page for parents of high school students! cedarville.edu/parents cedarville.edu/parentprep Parental Access to Information Your student can allow you to access his or her CedarInfo information, which includes student account information. He or she can also complete a financial information request form to allow Cedarville University to release financial information to authorized individuals. What to Bring In addition to clothing, bedding, and school supplies, you might want to remind your student to bring: electrical power strip (surge protector) laundry basket or bag laundry detergent and dryer sheets hangers storage containers flashlight umbrella sticky tack or removable hooks first aid supplies (Band-Aids, hand sanitizer, pain reliever) Cell phone and charger bike/longboard Encourage your son or daughter to consider sharing these with a roommate: small refrigerator (4 cubic feet max/2.5 amps) small microwave (900 watts max) trash can iron and ironing board plastic bowls, cups, and utensils A full list of packing ideas is online at cedarville.edu/whattobring .
