In these illustrations, God gives to us exactly what happened not only to the nation of Israel, but a total perspective in foundational teaching of the Word of God. The book of Deuteronomy is one of the most practical books in the Bible. In fact, if you could take it out of the Old Testament and give it a new name, you could easily slot it into the New Testament. Deuteronomy is practical in its formulas and promises for everyday life today. In this book, Moses is explaining to the new generation what God expects of them.
