I I I I OUR PROBLEM: Projected Enrollment '65 '66 '67 1 68 1 69 Poses a Problem The enrollment in American colleges and universities will double in the next decade. The students who are now taxing the facilities of the elementary and high schools will come to college in growing numbers. American youth between the ages of 18 and 21 number almost 9 million. This figure will be raised to more than 13 million in the next 10 years. In addition. a larger percentage of American youth is seeking a college edu– cation. Nearly 1 out of 2 of college age are now in college. It is expected that this figure will be nearly 2 out of 3 by 1970. The enrollment at Cedarville has experienced a phenomenal growth in the past few years. Yet if we are to maintain the traditional ratio of facilities and teachers to students, we are faced with the staggering task of providing within a decade as much as has been provided by colleges in the entire history of our nation.
