COMMENCEMENT HONORS A student who wins eighty per cent of the maximum num– ber of merit points obtainable in his course will be gradu– ated cum laude, "with praise"; one who wins ninety per cent of the maximum number obtainable in his course, will be graduated magna cum laude, "with great praise"; and one who wins the maximum number obtainable in his course, will be graduated summa cum laude, "with the highest praise." The maximum number of merit points obtainable in any course is three times the number of credits or semester-hours required for graduation in that course. RHODES SCHOLARSHIP Men who have completed their Sophomore year at Cedarville College are eligible to compete for the Cecil Rhodes Scholar– ships, tenable for three years at Oxford University, England, - with a stipend of $1,500 each year. These scholarships are awarded on the combined basis of character, scholarship, athletics, and leadership in extra-curricular activities.
