A Major Study (a study selected by the student and in– cluding eighteen semester-hours of collegiate work in some subject oi study ordinarily taught in secondary schools, for · instance, English, Latin, Biology, or History). In order to major i;n any subject, the student must have the prerequisite high school units required by the Department of Education of the State of Ohio . The following are the number of units prerequisite to each study: English (public speaking, literature, 1·hetoric) 3; history (political science, civics) 2; social science (economics 1 sociology, ethics, philosophy, logic) 1; biological science (b1ology, zoology, botany, physiology, agriculture) 1; physical science (phy,sics, chemistry) 2; earth science (geology, geography, physiography)!; mathematics (algebra, geometry, ttigonometry, astronomy, statistics, etc.) 2; Frooch 2; German 2; Greek 2~ Latin 4. One semester of collegiate cred1t in any subje·ct may be offered in lieu of each unit of the high school prerequisite in that subject, except in Latin. Two Minor Studies (including twelve semester-hours of collegiate work in subjects of study ordinarily taught in sec– ondary schools). The same requirements as to prerequisite high school units apply to the minor studies as to the major study, as stated above. Required work as well as elective may be counted toward the major and minor studies. Elective studies in addition to those specified above to an amount sufficient to make a total of one hundred and twenty semester hours. The completion of the above curriculum secures the A.B. degree from Cedarville College, and the Four-Year State Provisional Certificate.
