A Major Study (a study selected by the student an<l consisting of three years of collegiate work in some subject of study ordinarily taught in secondary schools, for instance, English, Latin, Bioiogy, or History). In order to major i.n any subject the student must have the prerequisite high school units required by the Department of Education of the State of Ohio. The following are the number of w1its prerequisite to each study: English (public speaking, literature, rhetoric) 3; history (political science, civics) 2; social science (economics, sociology, ethics, philosophy, logic) 1; biological science (biology, zoology, botany, physiology, agriculture) 1; physical science (physics, chemistry) 2; earth science (geology, geography, physiography)l; mathematics (algebra, geometry, trigonometry, astronomy, statistics, etc.) 2; Freinch 2; German 2; Greek 2; Latin 4. One semester of collegiate credit in any subject may be offered in lieu of each unit of the high school prerequisite in that subject, except in Latin. Two Minor Studi~s (consisting of two years of col– legiate work in subjects of study ordinarily taught in sec– ondary schools). The same requirements as to prerequisite high school units apply to the minor studies as to the major study, as stated above. Required work as well as elective may be counted toward the major and minor studies. Elective studies in addition to those specified above to an amount sufficient to make a total of one hundred and twenty semester hours. The completion of the above curriculum secures the A.B. degree from Cedarville College, and the Four-Year State Provisional Certificate.
