One cla and two two-hour laboratory periods per week. Elective. Prerequisite Biology 1-2. First semester. 6. VERTEBRATE ZOOLOGY A comparative study of the typical vertebrates. Human comparisons. Laboratory dissection. One class period and two three-hour laboratory periods per week. Elective. Pre– requisite Biology 1-2,5. Second semester. 9-10. GENERAL BOTANY A study of anatomy, methods of reproduction, and evolu– tion of plants, with t'he study of the local flora and the technique of plant identification. Three hours credit, throughout the year. 11. HEALTH AND HYGIENE Diseases, general hygiene, public sanitation, preventatives and therapeutics. Elective. Two hours credit. Second semester. 12.HUMAN ANATOMY--PHYSIOLOGY An introductory course in the structure, functions and relationships of the human body. Practical knowledge stressed. Elective. Three hours credit. First Semester. CHEMISTRY PROFESSOR GIBSON 1-2. GENERAL CHEMISTRY A stury of the various elements and their compounds as to occurrence, properties, and use. An introduction to chemical principles and laboratory tecnique. Latter half of year devoted to the principles of metallurgy and their qualitative determination in the laboratory. Elective. Lecture two hours, laboratory two three-hour periods per week through– out the year. 3-4. ORGANIC CHEMISTRY A general introductory course of the carbon compounds including both the aliphatic and aromatic series. Elective.
