Two hours credit. 322 THEORY AND PRACTICE (WOMEN) Lectures, and practical experience in basketball, field hockey, soccer, tennis, and volleyball. Students will be given an opportunity to officiate and coach the various sports. Two hours credit. 411 METHODS AND MATERIALS FOR T EACHING HEALTH IN ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOLS This course is designed to give a thorough knowledge and to establish correct attitudes in connection with teaching problems. The need for health education, its place in the curriculum, the objectives, health examinations, and follow-up programs and methods of securing the co-operation of the parents and outside agencies. Required m both health education and physical education curricula. Two hours credit. 412 ORGANIZATION AND ADMINISTRATION The study of procedures upon which the teaching situation depends. Selection and adaption of activities, examination and grouping of pupils, testing the results of teaching, evaluation of the teacher and leader, provision of equipment, depart– ment organization. Illustrative problems selected from elementary, secondary schools, colleges, and recreation agencies. Three hours credit. 413 HEALTH PROGRAM Principles, organization, and administration of the school health program. Three hours credit. Required in health education only, 421 ATHLETIC INJURIES AND FrnsT Arn Methods of conditioning athletes, care of athletic injuries, practice in taping and massages, first aid, methods of conditioning athletes, etc. Two hours credit. Re– quired in both health education and physical education curricula. 430 DRIVER EDUCATION This course qualifies the student to teach driver education in the secondary schools of Ohio. Driver education is a separate teaching field which is added to tht student's valid Ohio State High School provisional certificate. The driver education course is approved by the Ohio State Department of Education, Ohio Automobile Association and the American Automobile Association. Instruction in a dual control automobile is included in the class laboratory experience. lass– room instruction is intensive and extensive. Part of the course requires that the student teach a non-driver to operate a motor vehicle. Three hours credit.
