38 CEDARVILLE COLLEGE DUAL CURRICULUM The dual program leads to the B. S. in Education degree and two certificates: elementary and secondary. At the end of the freshman year, the student should apply to the director of student teaching for per, mission to enter the program as a sophomore. The work of the freshman year may be applied to elementary, secondary, or dual program. Because of the number of courses in education required, teaching fields must be selected carefully. Persons completing comprehensive ma, jors or special fields may find it necessary to attend one or more summer sessions.
