319 SURVEY OF THE PLANT KINGDOM** Prerequisite: Biology 211-212 A study of the morphology and life cycles of representa– tives of ,the various divisions of the plant ldngdom beginning with the algae and fungi and proceedings upwards through the various levels of complexity until the flowering plants are reached. Some attention is given to the basis of classification of plants. Three lectures and one 2 hour lab per week. Four credit hours 320 TAXONOMY OF SEED PLANTS** Prerequisite: Biology 211-212 The study deals exclusively with the classification of the flowering plants. Some time is spent on the history of classi– fication and the various systems by which the seed plants have been catalogued. A collection from the local flora will be made by each student. The second semester laboratory is qualitative analysis. Three lectures, two labs per week.
