DIVISIONS OF INSTRUCTION Cedarville College COURSE NUMBERS The course numbers are designed to be of help to the student in selecting courses at the appropriate level. The following system is used : 1. The first digit indicates the year in which the course is normally taken. Freshmen normally take 100 courses; Sophomores, 200 or 100 courses; Juniors, 300 or 200 courses; and Seniors, 400 or 300 courses. Courses beyond the student's classification may be taken only with the consent of the instructor and the Registrar. 2. The second digit indicates the area within the division. 3. The third digit indicates the semester. A zero indicates that the course may be offered either semester; odd numbers indicate first semester courses; and even numbers indicate second semes– ter courses. The College reserves the right to offer or withhold any of its listed courses. Courses with hyphenated numbers must be attended both semesters to obtain credit, while those separated by a comma may be taken either semester for credit. An asterisk ( *) following the course title indicates that the course is offered in alternate years. Chapel speakers are the best 34
