ACADEMIC INFORMATION Cedarville College POINTS AND POINT AVERAGES Cedarville College uses the "four point system" to determine aca– demic averages. Grade points are awarded as follows: Each semester hom of .A-4 grade points Each semester hom of B--3 grade points Each semester hom of C-2 grade points Each semester hom of D-1 grade points Each semester hom of F-0 grade points The grade point average is computed by dividing the total grade points earned by the total hours attempted. ACADEMIC Academic probation is a warning to the student that he faces academic dismissal unless his grades improve. No college restrictions are applied, but the warning should be taken seriously. Students on probation two consecutive semesters are eligible for dismissal. Academic probation levels are determined by cumulative averages as follows: Seniester hours 0-18 19-32 33-48 49-64 65-80 81-128 ACADEMIC DISMISSAL Minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average i.60 1.70 1.80 1.90 2.00 2.00 Since a cmnulative grade point average of 2.00 is necessary for graduation, students are eligible for dismissal if they are on academic probation for two consecutive semesters or if they do not have the cumu– lative average outlined below.
