32 Basic Educational Opportunity Grants (PELL Grant) A student who is a United States citizen, or who is in the United States for other than a temporary purpose and intends to become a permanent resident, or who is a permanent resident of the Trust Territories of the Pacific Islands or of the Northern Mariana Is– lands, may be eligible for a federal grant under an entitlement grant program sponsored by the federal government through the Office of Education. Students may see their high school guidance counselors or write the Financial Aid Director for additional in– formation. As of January I, 1978, application for this grant can be made through the Financial Aid Form (FAF) or by submitting a separate Basic Grant application. All students with financial need are en– couraged to apply for this grant, preferably by using the Financial Aid Form (FAF). United States Military Scholarships Two-, three-, and four-year scholarships are available for stu– dents who enroll in Army ROTC. These scholarships pay all tui– tion, fees, and books, plus $100 per month for 10 school months per year. United States Army National Guard Scholarships, which pay up to $1000 per school year, are available for those who qualify. Additional information pertaining to these scholarships is availa– ble from the Professor of Military Science, Central State Univer– sity. Student Loans Loans are available to Cedarville College students through the United Student Aid Funds, Inc., federal-guaranteed programs, and most state-guaranteed loan programs. All of these loan pro– grams are arranged through local banks, savings and loan associa– tions, credit unions, pension funds, and insurance companies for specified interest rates and are repayable starting the seventh month after graduation. Listing of the college in the Directory of Higher Education published by the United States Department of Education makes available the payment of interest by the federal government on loans secured through banks under the various state, federal, or private loan programs. National Direct Student Loans are available through the college to students who are citizens of the United States and who can dem– onstrate financial need to meet educational expenses. Detailed in– formation and application forms are available from the director of financial aid. There are special loan funds available to students who meet the proper qualifications such as the McChesney Memorial Loan Fund for residents of Greene County, Ohio, the Bancroft Loan Fund for missionary candidates, the Polly LeunkMemorial Fund, the JDC Memorial Fund, the Miter Loan Fund, and others. A very limited amount of money is available to students with special needs through the college Student Aid Fund.
