Smith The Department of Business Administration is comprised of accounting, general business, computer science, economics, management, marketing, finance, and secretarial administration. This department intends to prepare the student for a lifetime of Christ-centered service. The major in business administration is based upon a balanced program in Bible and the liberal arts. Prep– aration is provided for graduate study in business, careers in busi– ness, and in church financial leadership. Certification for teaching business subjects in the secondary schools is available in several fields. Stu– dents who are preparing for the CPA examination should take at least 36 quarter hours in accounting. Computer Science Requirements include twelve quarter hours in 200- or 300-level computer science courses, 11-354 Management Science, and/or independent study in computer science. Economics Requirements include twelve quarter hours in economics courses, 11-313 General Business, and/or independent study in econom– ics. Management Requirements include 11-252 Human Relations Management, eight quarter hours in 300-level management courses, 11-361 Sales Management, 11-362 Marketing Management, and/or in– dependent study in management. Marketing Requirements include twelve quarter hours in 200- or 300-level marketing courses and/or independent study in marketing. Secretarial Administration Requirements include thirty-five quarter hours in secretarial science. Business Education In addition to the requirements for certification in secondary edu– cation, at least one of the teaching fields described in the Educa– tion Department section must be selected. Special Programs Although most students choose one of the seven areas of special emphasis, individual programs can be arranged to meet the spe– cific needs of the student. Requirements for a Minor in Business Administration. A personalized program may be developed upon consultation with department faculty.
