Requirements for Minor in Biology. Twenty-four quarter hours of biology including 71-115 and 71-134. Requirements for Minor in Chemistry. Twenty-four quarter hours of chemistry including 71-151, 71-152, 71-153, 71-257, 71-254 Requirements for Minor in Mathematics. Twenty-five quarter hours of mathematics courses including 71-281, 71-282, 71-283, and at least one 300 or 400 level course. Requirements for Minor in Physics. Twenty-five quaxier hours of physics from 71-271, 71-272, 71-273, 71-276, 71-378, 71-379 Preprofessional and Health Science Programs PREMEDICAL, PREDENTAL, or PREVETERINARY MEDICINE students normally major in biology or chemisty. Additional courses recommended for the premedical or predental student are listed under these majors. One- and two-year programs are available for students prepar– ing to transfer to schools of pharmacy, medical technology, nurs– ing, physical therapy, and engineering. The student works with his advisor in arranging a program to meet the requirements of the professional school the student plans to attend after leaving Ce– darville College. PRE-ENGINEERING The pre-engineering curriculum is designed to satisfy the tech– nical/nontechnical requirements of the first two years of a typical engineering program. It is expected that strict adherence to this program will result in acceptance at an accredited engineering school at the junior level, enabling the student to acquire an engi– neering degree with an additional two years of study. Students should research the engineering schools to which they wish to transfer so that application materials can be completed in advance of deadlines. They will not count toward any science or mathematics major; a student majoring in science or mathematics may take these courses only as electives. However, any course listed for science or mathematics major or minor may also count toward fulfilling general education requirements. 71-100 Principles of Biology-A, W, Sp, Su 5 hours This course emphasizes basic life process and the principles by which these processes operate at the ecological, organismic, and cellular levels of organization. Four lectures and one 2-hour labo– ratory per week.
