3. Scholastic Aptitude Test of the College Entrance Examina– tion Board (SAT) or the American College Testing Pro– gram Examination (ACT). (Prefer an ACT composite score of 20 or higher.) 4. Students not accepted into the Nursing Department have sev– eral options: placement on a waiting list for admission to the De– partment of Nursing; selection of a different field of study at Cedarville College; or application to another program appropriate to stated career goals. Facilities for Clinical All clinical activity is conducted under the direct supervision of Cedarville College nursing facul– ty. The program utilizes a number of community resources within thirty miles of the campus including public and private, large and small hospitals, health departments, mental health services, wel– fare services, rehabilitation centers, clinics, homes for the aged, and physicians' offices. Students are responsible for transporta– tion to and from clinical settings. Car pools will be encouraged to help defray the cost. Insurance. All students admitted into the Depaiiment of Nursing are required to carry their own liability insurance. 11-l'lhv..:li,"~u Examination. A complete physical examination, posi– tive Rubella and a negative test for tuberculosis are required prior to the first clinical placement. Evidence of usual childhood im– munization protocols, a tetanus booster, and CBC are included in the complete physical examination. When students ascertain that they have an active infection, they are not permitted to report to the clinical area. They are to call their instructor, call the clinical site, then go to the Patterson Clinic for assessment. Uniforms. Each student must secure uniforms prior to the first clinical experience. ~<llUiPnrle1rat. Books and equipment needed in clinical settings will be purchased by the student. 1.
