78 Communication Arts An experienced debater and public speaker, Deborah Hqffey brings valuable per– sonal insights to the courses she teaches in communication arts. Profile The Department of Communication Arts offers five areas of specialization: general communications, organizational communi– cations, platform arts, broadcasting, and intercultural communi– cations. A combination of theory and practice is used to help the student learn to communicate effectively in a wide range of expe– riences. An additional interest in health care communication is being developed by the department. A private speech clinic for students desiring corrective help is available in the department.
