96 Education An active consultant in applying cognitive theory, Sharon Eimers teaches thinking skills to education majors. Teacher Education Program Retention and Completion Requirements l. Satisfactory GPA in all courses. 2. Satisfactory completion ofmethods courses. 3. Satisfactory completion of field experiences. 4. Satisfactory completion of student teaching. 5. Acceptable scores on the National Teachers Examination (NTE). Elementary Education The elementary education major and certification prepares students to teach grades 1-8 in Christian and public schools. The curriculum includes thirty quarter hours of an academic concentration selected by each student. Twenty-six concentrations are available.
