EnglishEducation The English education majm.· prepares students to teach English in both public and Christian schools in grades 7-12. Students who complete this curriculum will be certified by the state of Ohio and the Association of Christian Schools International. The Ohio teaching certificate, through reciprocal agreements, is automati– cally recognized in 35 states. Those planning to teach in states other than Ohio should consult with the Depart– ment of Education to be aware of special requirements in states where reciprocity has not been established. Students desiring English as a second teaching field must complete all the requirements for the English education major. Candidates for secondary English education must take the NTE specialty exam in English.
