Language Professional WritingMajor The professional writing major prepares students for positions as writers and editors in a variety of industries. The major itself involves 40 quarter hours in specific professional writing courses. The professional writing major must begin the fall quarter of the junior year. To be admitted to the professional writing major a student must have an cumulative GPA of 2.0 and have a 2.5 GPA in ENG-110, ENG-140, PWRT-311, and PWRT-317.
