1 Interdisciplinary Studies International Studies The international studies major utilizes courses from several academic disciplines to prepare students for a variety of · internationally-focused careers. A distinct international studies core provides the foundation for all the concentrations available in this major. Courses in anthropology, business, communications, culture, geography, history, linguistics, and political science provide students with the basic understand– ing they need to appreciate the diverse international commu– nity. Concentration options enable students to focus l)pon a particular area of interest within the international context. Three concentrations are available. The global economics and international business concentra– tion provides students with an economic view of the interna– tional community. Utilizing courses in business, economics, and political science, this program prepares business-ori~nted students for careers in international management, marketmg, finance, comparative economics, missions, and the foreign service.
