Middle Childhood Education The middle childhood education major prepares students to teach upper elementary or middle school: grades 4 to 9. Students will prepare to teach in two of the four major curriculum areas: reading and language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. As part of a major restructuring of Ohio's teacher licensure laws, the middle childhood education licensure program is subject to change. Please see page 84 for details.
