4. A student may take just one elective course per term under the credit/no credit designation. 5. The total number of courses (other than one-hour physical education courses) which may be taken under the credit/no credit designation is determined by the student's cumulative grade point average: 2.0-2.49 2.5-2.99 3.0-3.49 one course two courses four courses 3.5 and above six courses 6. A student taking an elective course who wishes to change from the credit/no credit designation to the regular grading designation must do so before the end of the fourth week of the quarter. 7. A student who wishes to change an elective course to the credit/no credit designation must do so before the end of the first full calendar week ofthe quarter. Academic Honors TheDean's Honor List Until final awards are announced at commencement, the highest academic honor possible to attain at Cedarville University is to be included on the Dean's Honor List. This list of high-ranking students is published at the end of each regular quarter. Lists are not published following the summer sess10ns. The requirements for the Dean's Honor List are as follows: 1. A student must have a 3. 75 grade point average or higher for the quarter. 2. A student must have no grade for the quarter lower than a"B." 3. A student must carry a minimum of 12 quarter hours, excluding "CR" hours. Exceptions are made for those enrolled in field experiences or internships granting credit/no credit, provided they take at least two regularly graded courses. 4. A sh1dent must complete eve1y course being taken by the end of the quarter when grades are h1rned in by the faculty. TheDean'sList Published at the end of each regular quarter, the Dean's List is issued with the following requirements: 1. A student must maintain a 3.50 average for the quaiier. 2. A student must be canying at least 12 quaiier hours, excluding "CR" hours. Exceptions are made for those enrolled in field experiences or internships granting credit/no credit, provided they take at least two regularly graded courses. 3. A student must complete eve1y course being taken by the end of the quarter when grades are turned in by the faculty. GraduationwithHonors Upon recommendation of the faculty, a student who earns a grade point average of 3. 5 will be graduated "with honor;" one who earns a grade point average of3.75 will be graduated "with high honor;" and one who earns a grade point average of 3.9 will be graduated "with highest honor." A sh1dent must be in residence at least two full years (90 quarter hours) in order to qualify for graduation with honors. Hours earned by examination (test out) do not count as hours in residence toward graduation with honors. The student must have a GPA of 3.3 or above and have an effective ongoing ministly to young people. Established by the Education Department Faculty and friends of Dr. and Mrs. Merlin Ager. Alumni Scholarship and Grant Endowment Fund Awards Awarded to outstanding freshmen, sophomores, andjuniors by each academic department. Provided by the Alumni Association. The Amstutz Mmwgement-Sales Award Granted to a deserving junior majoring in business administration. Provided by Mr. and Mrs. Myron E. Amstutz. The Pat Yoder Amstutz Nursing A1Vard Granted to a deserving junior majoring in nursing. Provided by Mr. and Mrs. Myron E. Amstutz. Anderson Fami~y Scholarship Fund Granted to a female student with a foreign language concentration and a 3.0 GP A. Provided by Mr. and Mrs. Robeti J. Anderson. The Arline Littleton Autio Award Given to a senior elementaty education student who intends to pursue a career in public school education. Given by General and Mrs. Clyde Autio. The John W. Bickett Alumni Scholarships Given to juniors and seniors preparing for pastoral or missionmy service and planning to continue their education in seminmy or language studies. Provided by Heritage Alumni. Shari Boblitt Family Jvfemorial Award Given to a graduating senior who is pursuing a post-graduate degree in the field of Christian Counseling. The recipient must have a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or above. Established by the family of Shari Boblitt. The Boyd Accounting Award Presented annually to a deserving junior in accounting. The Alton R. Brown Psychology Award Given to two juniors majoring in psychology or applied science. Provided by the members of the Alton R. Brown family. The Edmund Burke Award Presented to a junior majoring in social science with a 3.5 GP A. The Dr. Clifford W. Fmvcett Senior Business Scholarship Award Given to graduating seniors who have demonstrated exceptional scholarship and exemplaty Christian, moral, and ethical character. The David G. Canine Award Given to a graduating senior with a cumulative GPA of3.0 or above who is planning to enter the pastorate and has a heart for evangelism. Established in memmy of and gratitude for the ministiy of David G. Canine. Centennial LibrmJ' Scholarship Award in Librm:F Science Given to a senior accepted for enrollment or planning to begin a graduate programwithin two years ofgraduating from Cedarville University to pursue an advanced degree in Libra1y and Information Science. J.D. Cloud and Co. Accounting Award Given to an accounting student who is a junior with a 3.5 or higher GPA and who has expressed an interest in public accounting as a career. CRC Press Chemisfl)' Award Presented to the sh1dent with the highest average for the year in general chemistly. The Creation Research Awards Presented annually to outstanding seniors majoring in biology, chemistiy, mathematics, or physics. Daniel Award Given to graduating male seniors who are planning to serve as full-time pastors and are accepted by a conservative evangelical seminaty. Recipients must have a minimum cumulative grade average of 3.3. Established by David and Jean Heyd in memorial to their parents Charles and E. LaRue Wilcox and Elmer and Katluyn Heyd. The Irma M. Dodson A1Vard Granted to a graduating senior in elementmy education. Endowed out of gratih1de for the Lord's enablement in allowing Irma M. Dodson to serve 50 years in education. Helen Dmllinger Memorial Award Given to a sh1dent enrolled in a Bible program, preparing for professional Christian minist1y. The recipient must maintain a cumulative GPA of3.3 or above. Preference is given to a married sh1dent whose wife is working to help pay for his college expenses. Established in memory ofHelen Drullinger. The Erich Tf1. Ebert Award Given to a senior secondaty or elemen– tmy education student who has as his or her intent to pursue a career in Christian school education.
