194 Social Sciences and History School of Social Sciences and Professional Studies History The history major prepares students for graduate work or for careers in a variety of fields including government, law, busi- ness, education, public history, and the gospel ministry. Tradi- tionally a key component of the classical liberal arts education, history and the skills demanded by the historical process provide a necessary foundation for learning. Coursework encourages students to evaluate the historical narrative based on biblical principle, resulting in an integrative interpretation.
