Mary Jane LeBlanc Missions Award* John and Jean LeBlanc established this scholarship in 2002 in memory of John’s mother, Mary Jane. The scholarship assists full-time junior or senior female students preparing for full-time missionary service who have a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher. Preference is given to students with financial need, but it is not required. Recipients of this award are selected by the Bible Department faculty and the Director of Financial Aid. Completion of the FAFSA is recommended but not required. One scholarship of $1,500 is awarded per year. Nelson L. and Vera B. Lee Scholarship Nelson and Vera Lee established this scholarship in 1993 to assist students preparing for the pastoral ministry or the mission field, teaching in a Christian school, or other full-time vocational Christian work. Recipients must have attended Cedarville at least one year and maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher. Students should submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) if interested in this scholarship. The Financial Aid Director selects the recipients. Approximately five scholarships are awarded annually. Dorothy Hilma Leininger Nursing Scholarship* This endowed annual scholarship was established by Dr. Wayne E. Leininger in 1989 to honor his wife, Dorothy Hilma Leininger, in gratitude for her life and ministry. The award is granted to a full-time nursing student, sophomore or higher, preparing to enter the nursing profession as a career missionary. The recipient demonstrates well-rounded interests and involvements, an exemplary Christian testimony, active Christian service, Christian principles, compassion and care for others, and financial need. Recipients of this scholarship are selected by the Chair and faculty of the Nursing Department. Approximately two scholarships are awarded annually ranging from $1500–$4000. Students should submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) if interested in this scholarship. William M. and Ruth Ann Lewis College Assistance William M. and Ruth Ann Lewis established this scholarship in 1987 to assist full- time students with financial need. Preference given to students from southeastern Ohio. Students must maintain a 2.5 GPA to qualify. Students should submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) if interested in this scholarship. The Director of Financial Aid selects the recipient. One scholarship is awarded per year ranging from $1000–$2000. Light in the World Scholarship The Class of 2009 established the Light in the World Scholarship as an endowed scholarship to commemorate the opening of the Center for Biblical and Theological Studies. Recipients must be junior and/or senior students in good standing with the University pursuing a bachelor’s degree in any academic program. Recipients must demonstrate financial need, display Christian character in ministry, and must maintain a GPA of 2.7 or higher on a 4.0 grading scale. Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to qualify. Philip S. Lindner Scholarship This scholarship as established in 2000 by David ‘84 and Laura ‘84 Lindner in memorial to David’s father, Philip S. Lindner. This scholarship assists students with financial need who are from single-parent homes resulting from the death of their father. Students from single-parent homes who have not lost their father may also be considered. Students should submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) if interested in this scholarship. The Director of Financial Aid selects the recipients. One scholarship is awarded per year ranging from $1000–$2000. George H. and Edna F. Louys Endowed Grant George and Edna Louys established this scholarship in 1980 to assist students training to be pastors or missionaries. Students should submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) if interested in this scholarship. The Financial Aid Director selects the recipients. One scholarship is awarded per year. Love Pedagogy Scholarship in Music* Jeff and Rebecca Cone ‘94 established this scholarship in 1995 to assist a junior or senior music major who has completed two years at Cedarville, has an emphasis in pedagogy, demonstrates excellence in pedagogy, maintains a GPA of 3.5 or higher, and has financial need. Recipient must also demonstrate exemplary Christian character and involvement in Christian service. One scholarship is awarded each year ranging from $1000–$2000. Recipients of this award are selected by the Chari of the Music Departmental and the Financial Aid Director. Completion of the FAFSA is required. Irene MacArthur Memorial Scholarship Established in 1999 by John and Adele Weeks in honor of Irene MacArthur, this scholarship benefits students with a high school GPA of 3.5 or higher who have financial need. Recipients must maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher at the university. Primary consideration is given to students who are members of Calvary Memorial Church in Racine, WI. Secondary consideration is given to students who have graduated from a homeschool based curriculum. Students should submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) if interested in this scholarship. The Financial Aid Director selects the recipient. On average, three awards of approximately $1,500 are awarded per year. Julie Ann Macrae Scholarship This endowed scholarship was established in 2008 by Douglas Macrae to honor his beloved wife, Julie Macrae ‘93, and to assist students with exceptional financial need. Recipients must be juniors or seniors pursuing a bachelor’s degree, demonstrate financial need, and maintain employment of an average of at least 10 hours per week. Preference will be given to students who are unable to continue at the University without financial assistance and preference given to female candidates. The Director of Financial Aid will select the recipients. Candidates must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) if interested in this scholarship and complete an application that details the financial challenges they face in completing their academic program. An average of two scholarships are awarded each year of $2,000. Miriam Maddox Speech Communication Scholarship* This endowed scholarship award is presented biannually to a communication arts freshman, sophomore or junior who exhibits high commitment to Christian education and excellence in speech communication training. Recipients of this award are nominated and selected by departmental faculty; no application is necessary. McQuinn Family Scholarship Larry and Marilyn McQuinn established this scholarship in 2008 to assist students whose parents are in full-time Christian ministry. Qualified ministries include the pastorate, missions, and Christian elementary and secondary education. Recipients must demonstrate significant financial need and have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5. Students should submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) if interested in this scholarship. The Director of Financial Aid selects the recipients. William and Jean Meahl Scholarship William ‘44 and Jean Meahl ‘43 established this scholarship in 1995 to assist a Cedarville High School graduate who plans to pursue an elementary or secondary education degree, maintains a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and demonstrates financial need. Students should submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) if interested in this scholarship. The Financial Aid Director selects the recipient. One scholarship of approximately $3,000 is awarded annually. Mephibosheth Scholarship Endowment This scholarship was established by Fellowship Homes, Inc. in 2004 to assist full-time students with physical disabilities. The scholarship fund was provided by the late Peter DeKorete, a successful businessman who himself had a physical disability. Recipients of this scholarship must have a physical impairment that is likely to continue indefinitely. Preference will be given to those who have an impairment that makes employment during the academic year less likely. The Director of Financial Aid and Dean of the School of Health and Human Performance select the recipient. Three to four scholarships ranging from $1000–$2000 are awarded per year. Students interested in this scholarship must include a letter explaining impairment and likelihood of employment. The Milner Family Award* Dr. George S. Milner ‘61 established this scholarship in 1964 to honor Edith Hart Milner and Clara Monzelle Milner and to assist seniors under the Department of Language and Literature. Preference is given to students who are pursuing a career in English Education. Recipients must have a GPA of 3.3 or higher to qualify and have at least two semesters of study remaining in their program. Recipients are selected by the Language and Literature Department faculty. One scholarship is awarded annually ranging from $250–$500. MK Scholarship Dr. Frank ‘68 and Barbara ‘70 Jenista established this scholarship in 1984 to assist children of missionary parents. Recipients must be junior or senior students whose parents are serving on a foreign missions field. Recipients must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher and demonstrate financial need. Preference is given to students of alumni. The Director of Financial Aid selects the recipients.
