Fawcett Business Faculty Senior Scholar Award* Dr. Clifford and Lydia Fawcett established this scholarship in 2000 to assist a senior student studying business who has demonstrated exceptional scholarship and exemplary Christian, moral and ethical character. The recipient must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.3. Recipients of this award are selected by business department faculty. One scholarship is awarded per year ranging from $500–$850. Fellowship Baptist Church Scholarship This scholarship was established in 2003 by members of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Lakeland, Florida to assist student members or faithful attendees of Fellowship Baptist Church, Lakeland, FL with financial need. Recipients must receive a pastoral recommendation and should submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) if interested in this scholarship. The director of financial aid selects the recipients. Two scholarships are awarded annually. John and Ann Field Scholarship John, Ann, and Patrick Field established this scholarship in 1998 to assist full-time first year students demonstrating exceptional financial need. Priority is given to students who would be unable to attend Cedarville without significant financial assistance. Students should submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) if interested in this scholarship. The director of financial aid and director of admissions select the recipient. One award is granted per year ranging from $1,000–$1,400. Five Loaves Scholarship The Class of 2010 established this endowed scholarship to recognize a student who has displayed character and perseverance in overcoming trials in their life (personal tragedy, family tragedy, financial hardship, etc.). Recipients must be sophomore, junior, and/or senior students in good standing with the University pursuing a bachelor’s degree in any academic program. Recipients must demonstrate financial need and must display character and perseverance in overcoming trials in their life. Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to qualify. Daniel and Stephanie Forrest Scholarship This endowed scholarship was established in 2009 by Daniel ’95 and Stephanie ’95 (Sherman) Forrest to assist students who are pursuing a degree in an academic major in the medical sciences with financial need. Recipients must be juniors or seniors who are pursuing a degree in nursing, biology, chemistry, physics, or pharmacy, have a cumulative grade average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, and demonstrate financial need. Preference will be given to members of the men’s or women’s track or cross country teams. The director of financial aid will select the recipients. Candidates must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) if interested in this scholarship. An average of two scholarships are awarded each year of $1,500. L. Bert Frye Geology Award* This annually funded scholarship was established in 2009 by John and Jamie ’04 (Case) Whitmore to assist outstanding students who demonstrate exceptional skill in research and publication in the field of geology. Recipients must be pursuing a degree in geology, have at least one semester of study remaining in their program, have a cumulative grade average of 3.3 or higher on a 4.0 scale and demonstrate exceptional skill in research and publication potentiated in the field of geology. The geology faculty will select the recipients. An average of one scholarship is awarded each year of $1,500. Future Generations Scholarship Since 2005, reunion classes have celebrated homecoming with gifts to the Future Generation Scholarship. This scholarship was led by the class of 1960 and endowed in 2000 by Cedarville University alumni and friends. This competitive, one-time scholarship is awarded to new students whose parents or grandparents graduated from Cedarville. The eligible recipient must demonstrate exceptional leadership skills and a heart for Christian service. Financial need may also be considered. Students should submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) if interested in this scholarship. The director of financial aid, the director of alumni relations, the director of admissions, and a representative of the Class of 1960 select the recipients. Approximately 10 scholarships ranging from $700–$1,000 are awarded each year. Wilson and Evelyn Galbraith Memorial Fund Established by bequest from the estate of Wilson and Evelyn Galbraith, this scholarship assists students with significant financial need. Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to qualify. The director of financial aid selects the recipients. S. Margaret Gallagher Scholarship This scholarship was established in 1991 by the Lewis P. Gallagher Family Foundation to assist sophomore, junior, or senior nursing majors with financial need. The scholarship was created in honor of S. Margaret Gallagher who founded the Lewis P. Gallagher Family Foundation. Recipients must maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher. Students should submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) if interested in this scholarship. The director of financial aid selects the recipients. Approximately 10 scholarships ranging from $1,000–$1,800 are awarded per year. Lewis P. Gallagher Scholarship This scholarship was established by the Lewis P. Gallagher Family Foundation to assist students from the state of Maine who have lived there at least five years. Preference is given to members of Berean Baptist Church in Brunswick, Maine. To be eligible, students must complete an application that is available in the Financial Aid Office. Approximately ten scholarships are awarded per year ranging from $1,000–$2,000. Completion of the FAFSA is recommended but not required. Selection will be made by the director of financial aid. GAR Foundation Scholarship This scholarship was established in 1986 by the GAR Foundation to assist full-time students with financial need. Students should submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) if interested in this scholarship. The director of financial aid selects the recipient. Approximately two scholarships are awarded per year ranging from $800–$1,200. GAR Foundation Summit County Scholarship This scholarship was established by the GAR Foundation in 1994 to assist full-time students with financial need who reside in Summit County, Ohio. Students who reside in northeastern Ohio may also be considered. Students should submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) if interested in this scholarship. The director of financial aid selects the recipients. Two to three scholarships are awarded per year ranging from $1,000– $3,000. Gershom Scholarship Established in 2006, this scholarship assists children of full-time missionaries. First-year recipients must have a composite SAT (verbal/math of 1050 or an average composite ACT of 22; sophomore, junior, or senior recipients must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Preference is given to families currently serving in the Middle East. Students should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to qualify. The director of financial aid selects the recipients. One to two scholarships are awarded each year ranging from $1,000–$1,500. Esther C. Gilbertson-Stone Scholarship Esther Stone established this scholarship in 1976 to assist preministerial or ministerial students with moral character, academic potential and demonstrated financial need. Students should submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) if interested in this scholarship. The director of financial aid selects the recipients. Two scholarships of approximately $2,000 are awarded annually. Godby Memorial Scholarship This scholarship was established Eric Brock ’99 in 2001 to honor his grandparents, Herbert and Evelyn Godby. Recipients must be a full-time student who are residents of Kentucky and demonstrate financial need. Students should submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) if interested in this scholarship. The director of financial aid selects the recipients. Two scholarships of approximately $1,200 are awarded per year. William and Rachel Grapentine Scholarship This scholarship was established in 1995 by William and Rachel Grapentine to assist students who intend to pursue a career in nursing or missionary service and who have financial need. The award is granted to a student who has completed at least one year at Cedarville and has a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Preference given to Michigan residents but not required. Students should submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) if interested in this scholarship. The director of financial aid, biblical and ministry studies department chair, and nursing department chair select the recipient. Two scholarships of approximately $1,500 are awarded per year. Harold R. Green Christian Ministries Award* This scholarship was established by the division of Christian ministries in honor of Dr. Harold R. Green for his twenty-five years of faithful service in leading the division. The scholarship assists graduating seniors who have shown faithfulness and leadership in the area of Christian ministry. Recipients of this award are selected by department staff. Two scholarships are awarded annually. Gugger Scholarship Established in 1997 by Paul and Ella Gugger, this scholarship is awarded to students selected by the University administrative council. The administrative council establishes the scholarship criteria each year. Students should submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) if interested in this scholarship.
