C rab Orchard Springs, a noted wa tering place, is about a quarter of a ' mile no rth of the town, and there are a t present about four hundred visitors from different states aud cities spend- ing^ the heated season there. The guests are principally from Louisville, St. Louis. Lexington, A tlan ta and, Cincinnati. The buildings are very substantial and cost about two hun dred thouasnd dollars. The mineral waters are said to be the finest in the world consisting o f epsoin, sulphur and iron. Epidemics, malarial fevers and cyclones are almost unknown in this community, bu t th is' being elec turn <lay, vast quanitics of whisky is now being consumed in, a noisy man- u e rln the alley back .of my hotel. Main & Co. showed some edu ented horses in Waynesville last.
