This play was given under' the personal direction o f Prof. Ethel Brand, who half staged severel college events with artistic success. The proceeds, about $100, go to the college, It looks now as If the present Congress would pass a soldier bonus bill for the world war veterans. The Ohio delegation is solid fo r such a ■bill. Congressman Fess, who opposed such a bill in the last session will be- for the new bill. He has suggested that the money fo r such a bill be raised by a sales ta?£ The sales tax* has, been before congress as a means o f raising revenue before. By the sales tax whenever a person made a j purchase a certain tax would be a d -! ded, the consumer paying the tax. If the merchant purchased from the jobber, wholesaler or manufacturer the tax would be added.and then handed down. Canada has such a law that is said to work well.
